During my pregnancy with my second child, a son. I came to the
realization that the clothing choice's for boys was grim. Construction
trucks and teddy bears not my thing. Everything was the same, and nothing
was edgy and fun. I decided that I would have to make it myself. My good
friend just had a little boy, and was opening a retail clothing store for
children. She asked of me to make more of my items and sell them in her
shop... Thus the birth of Savvy n Kaj. Savvy after my daughter Savanna,
and Kaj, my son Ocean Kaj.
I had always wanted to have my own business, be my own boss, work at
my own pace, and do so creatively. With having children and hanging up the
executive hat to become a stay at home mom, this gave me an outlet. I also
discovered something within the process. The use of materials in creating
products was important. Sustainability and my personal beliefs in the
environment and community were important. It was becoming a greater
extension then just unique edgy clothing for children. Each product is
unique in its own way. I hope you enjoy them.
